Kalpana is a Sanskrit word meaning “Imagination” and “Creativity”. VigyanShaala’s Kalpana is true to its essence of reimagining STEM fields with enhanced participation women by equipping female under graduates with tools to explore broader possibilities in STEM careers. Kalpana envisions to create a self-sustaining and uplifting community of women in STEM, where underrepresented young girls will find relatable mentors to guide them in their scientific quest and facilitate in breaking traditional access barriers. The three important Pillars of Kalpana are
1. The Kalpana Fellowship – a 7 week interpersonal and professional development program for female undergraduates.
2. The Kalpana Stories – We bring you power stories of STEM leaders who themselves have broken several barriers and continue to raise the bar while smashing the glass ceiling in STEM.
3. The Kalpana Network – an online community of women in STEM, a trustable platform for younger students to seek answers to their questions about crossing barriers and being successful in STEM related careers.
